The Design Vision Behind This Major Home Remodel & Addition

Before a single hammer was swung, this project demanded an extensive pre-construction phase defined by meticulous planning and precise design work. A successful home transformation relies entirely on what happens before construction even begins. For this project, we invested significant time into developing highly detailed schematics, precise structural measurements, and comprehensive floor plans.  From architectural alignment to material integration—long before breaking ground, we eliminated guesswork, protected the client’s budget, and established a flawless roadmap for the build ahead. In high-end remodeling, this level of preparation isn’t just a preliminary step; it is a critical specialty that ensures the final structure is as sound as it is beautiful.

Architectural Vision: 360-Degree Exterior Elevation Plans

The exterior elevation plans illustrate how the remodeled residence will appear from all sides, including the East, South, West, and North/Water elevations. Together, they provide a comprehensive view of the architectural transformation, blending the existing structure with new additions.  The design introduces a balanced exterior appearance through the use of expanded living spaces, updated rooflines, covered outdoor areas, and enhanced architectural detailing.  Features such as dormers, metal roofing accents, large windows, extended porches, and improved entry elements help create a residential aesthetic while maintaining the character of the original home.  These elevations also demonstrate how the renovation improves both form and function — enhancing curb appeal, increasing usable living space, and strengthening the connection between indoor and outdoor living areas. The result is a more refined, modernized residence designed to better support contemporary living while using the home’s existing footprint and surroundings.

A Redesigned First Floor

The project includes substantial reconfiguration of the main living areas, featuring an expanded kitchen with a large central island, enhanced storage, and direct connection to the dining and gathering spaces for improved everyday living and entertaining. New and renovated spaces are integrated to create better flow throughout the home while maximizing natural light and views to the outdoors.   A newly designed primary suite offers increased privacy and comfort, complete with a spacious ensuite bathroom and walk-in closet. Additional improvements include upgraded utility and service spaces such as the laundry, mudroom, and powder bath, along with expanded living areas designed for flexibility, comfort, and long-term functionality.  The first floor also improves the connection between indoor and outdoor living with better access and upgraded entertaining spaces, creating a more modern home designed for today’s family lifestyle.

Roof Design Strategy for the Expansion

The roof plan shows the goal of integrating the existing roof areas and the newly constructed roof sections, including changes in roof pitch, ridge lines, valleys, and drainage directions.  We included new roof framing tied into the existing structure, modified roof slopes to accommodate the addition and new dormer-style elements and transitions between roof planes.

Construction Begins on This Full Home Transformation

One of the standout features of to demonstrate this large-scale home remodel and addition is already beginning to take shape — a wraparound porch that will be fully screened and positioned to capture peaceful river views year-round.  What is now framing and structure will soon become an incredible outdoor living space built for relaxing mornings, entertaining evenings, and everything in between. This is only the start of the transformation, and we look forward to sharing the project milestones along the way.

Now we step beyond the façade—where the exterior gives way to interior, and the vision of the Master Bedroom begins to take shape in raw, architectural form.

Framing of Master

On another side of the home, we see the foundation set for the new kitchen expansion—establishing the footprint of what’s to come. From there, the project advances past the framing, and preparing for the addition of a small deck and steps.
